Spring is in the Air

Hi Hi
Spring is in the air. Tulips are everywhere. The sun is shining bright along with our smiles and spirits!!! Happy Happy Happy
We had Zone Conference this week, but instead of doing it with a few zones combined, we did it with just our zone! It was nice to be more one on one! We received a training on short and powerful lessons. Instead of going into their home, chatting, going through every detail, the Spirit starts to leave, you get off topic, end the lesson, keep chatting for 10 minutes. We were trained to go in, get started, go briefly through the pamphlet with power and testimony so they feel the Spirit, invite them to do something, pray, and leave while they are still feeling the Spirit. They went into more detail and it is SO powerful!! Sister Fetzer and I tried it out for one of our lessons and lets just say it is going to take some practice because our lessons are a lot longer than they should be. BUT we will work on it!
Easter was wonderful and happy and peaceful. We got to go to this amazing performance called the Lamb of God, which is a choir/performance with characters depicting the Savior's life! It was so beautiful. I gained a whole new perspective on Easter and the Atonement and His Resurrection this Easter as a missionary that I hope to carry on throughout my life! My love and appreciation for Him is growing deeper and deeper every day!
Tristan was baptized!!!!! It was stress-free and I got to give the talk on baptism. The Spirit was so strong and he was the happiest I have ever seen him. His whole nonmember family came to support him!! I love Tristan.
The womens session of General Conference was powerful! All about service. Really touched my heart and motivated me to work even harder and forget about myself! One thing I loved that President Eyring shared was that he was trying to "fit his little part into His great composition." The Lord has a huge, beautiful, grand plan and we are His hands here on the earth, just trying to fit our tiny little part into His great composition.
We had our first lesson with Rob and it went well! David accepted baptism! Gaby is doing AWESOME. Tori is doing okay, kind of starting to slip. Teenagers are hard (lol I was one like 2 months ago)
TRANSFERS! Sister Fetzer is leaving! She isnt going too far. We will still be in the same district!! I am staying here in San Lorenzo (YES!) and Sister Benosa will be my companion! I serve with her in the Visitors Center. We are really really good friends and I LOVE her to death. We have both been looking forward to being companions our whole missions! She is teeny tiny so cute Filipino. I guess I get along with Asians because this is my third Asian companion haha. I will miss Sister Fetzer but I am so happy to be staying and so excited for Sister Benosa to come here! I have been in this zone my whole mission! I am also so happy that I get to be here when the Visitors Center re-opens late April.
In the Book of Mormon, King Zeniff passes the throne down to his son, Noah. Thus comes the reign of wicked King Noah.

"He did not keep the commandments of God, but he did walk after the desires of his own heart." Mosiah 11:2

This is interesting to me because it implies that he didn't want to keep the commandments. He did what HE wanted, not what GOD wanted. For a righteous prophet it could say, "He kept the commandments of God, and he did walk after the desires of his own heart." The natural man is an enemy to God and His commandments. The natural man is self-centered, prideful, stubborn, ect. If we followed the desires of our "natural-man" heart, we won't want to keep the commandments. It takes time, training, self-discipline, humility, prayer, ect. to WANT to keep the commandments. I hope "the desires of [my] own heart" will be keeping the commandments and being righteous and faithful.
Come up with some questions or concerns that you have this week so you can bring them in your heart and mind to the Lord while you watch General Conference. He will answer your prayers. He will calm your fears. He will bring peace to your troubled life. He will bring clarity to your mind. And all of this through his chosen apostles and prophets. They are speaking His words. It's as if Jesus Christ were there at the pulpit, speaking to us!! Seriously!! He is the head of this church and these men and women are his mouth piece! Having a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S Monson, is a HUGE manifestation of God's love for His children. He will never leave us alone in the dark not knowing where to go or what to do. He gives us a prophet to show us the way! And to remind us that He loves us and that He LIVES. He does live. Thank goodness.
Happy Spring! Smile! Serve! Love! Lift!

New Life

Hi all you beautiful people!
Wow, another week of miracles, another happy Sister Brinton, another sunny day in California!
Tristan is getting baptized on Saturday! So exciting. Everything is all lined up and we are praying things go as planned! He is great. Please keep him in your prayers this week.
Gaby is doing awesome! Coming to church, reading, meeting with us, going to activities. AH! Planning on being baptized April 16th. Her husbands heart is softening.
We found 3 AMAZING new investigators this week. wow. One is a members husband. They just got married a month ago! The wife is the (returning) member and he is the non-member from Guatemala. David. We offered him spanish missionaries but he wants to learn english! We had the first lesson yesterday and it went so well. He is so sweet and sincere. My heart was beating hard while testifying that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We asked him what he believes about God and he said in his broken english, "your body is weak without food after a while, your spirit is weak without God for a while." He loved the idea of a broken heart and contrite spirit and can feel the truth of that. He said the kneeling closing prayer in Spanish and I dont know what he said, but it sounded so sincere. The Spirit was there for sure.
One is a referral from another set of sisters. His name is Jairo. We had been over to his house like 5 times and he was never there, he would never answer the phone. Usually we would just give up, but we didnt. We went back really late at night, hoping he would be home. We said, "okay if he is not home, we are done trying to contact him." We pulled up and there was this HUGE bulldog in the driveway with no fence barking its head off. I know that was Satan trying to get in our way. We prayed for protection and ran to the door. The dog was no where to be seen. We knocked and waited for 4 or 5 minutes. Nothing. We got back in our car and were driving away and Sister Fetzer goes, "WAIT! SISTER BRINTON! HE'S THERE!" We quickly pulled over, didnt think a thing about the dog, and ran over to him. He was on his porch and he was so happy to see us. He thanked us for not giving up on him and asked if he could come to church on Sunday. I think we are passing him to the Spanish sisters but its all going towards the 400!
Another one is a random guy we started talking to on the street. Rob. He was cleaning his motorcycle and we walked over and he was very open and kind and friendly. A really, really cool guy. He practically bore his testimony to us about Jesus Christ and the Atonement. We had dinner with him at a members home and he is so golden. So exciting!
Our Mission President has encouraged a focus on becoming more purpose-centered missionaries. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I noticed that I had been caught up in numbers a little bit. Just going to teach people because I wanted a certain number of lessons that day. I read a talk on becoming more focused on my purpose and BRINGING PEOPLE TO CHRIST. That night, I found myself sitting in the messy home of a less active listening to her talk about all of her problems. I sadly had the pathetic and embarrassing thought, "unless we have a lesson, this wont be a key indicator." In other words, unless we can get her to stop talking, we wont have a lesson and the visit will be for nothing. The Spirit quietly and kindly rebuked me and reminded me what I had learned that morning. Its not about numbers. Its not about key indicators. Its not about giving a lesson. I was here to represent Jesus Christ and listen to her and love her and show understanding and compassion. As I changed my attitude, the Spirit filled the room. I saw her with different eyes. I listened sincerely. I forgot about the numbers. As we said a sweet prayer with her, she shared with us how much it meant to her that we came to visit and that she feels light around us, that we provide her with hope and a reminder that God loves her. I am SO grateful that I was prompted to "forget myself and go to work." Powerful and humbling moment I will never forget
Sister Fetzer is probably one of my favorite people on the planet earth. She makes me laugh SO hard. The cupboard was squeaking and she told it to quit whining. She gets car sick when she texts so I text at stop lights (don't tell on me) and she tells me when it's green. She has had SO much fun with this by saying things like, "it's still red" or "the other lane is green" or "its green but the cars aren't moving yet." hahahaha love it. We tease each other, so that's been nice because I am a teaser and my brothers aren't here for me to tease.
We had stake conference this weekend so I got to see a bunch of my friends from the San Leandro ward! We heard great talks on facing adversity and trusting the Lord. Adversity is ESSENTIAL for us to fulfill the plan of happiness. It is an opportunity for growth. Our stake president gave us 4 points to facing adversity or trials:
  1. Prepare to respond to adversity BEFORE it arrives.
  2. Reach out to others for strength and support
  3. Service will help us turn outwards
  4. God is our ULTIMATE source of strength and peace
We got to go to a fireside with Studio C (a famous mormon Youtube group apparently).
We went to lunch with a group of widows in our ward who named themselves the JOY group (just over youth).
We got to go on a hike today and it was probably one of the most refreshing and rejuvenating things I have done on my mission. I realized that I havent been on a hike or in nature or outside for like 6 months!! I am NOT a city girl and I was totally feeling cooped up in our apartment and car and city, so to be able to get out and walk and feel the cool breeze and mountains and a lake and trees, AH! It healed my soul.
I started reading Jesus the Christ by James E Talmage and I am in love with it! I cant put it down! For those of you who don't know, it is a book all about Jesus Christ's life, teachings, miracles, purpose, history, EVERYTHING. It is so powerful and I highly recommend all to read it if you havent yet, or again if you have. It has strengthened my testimony of the REALITY of our Savior and my love for Him. I have felt closer to Him and my Heavenly Father. I wanted to share a passage that has touched my heart and also because it is Easter this Sunday, the day we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

The atonement was plainly to be a vicarious sacrifice, voluntary and love-inspired on the Savior’s part, universal in its application to mankind so far as men shall accept the means of deliverance thus placed within their reach. Jesus Christ was the only Being suited to the requirements of the great sacrifice.
What other man has been without sin, and therefore wholly exempt from the dominion of Satan, and to whom death, the wage of sin, is not naturally due? Had Jesus Christ met death as other men have done—the result of the power that Satan has gained over them through their sins—His death would have been but an individual experience, expiatory in no degree of any faults or offenses but His own. Christ’s absolute sinlessness made Him eligible, His humility and willingness rendered Him acceptable to the Father, as the atoning sacrifice whereby propitiation could be made for the sins of all men.
So, for the advancement of man from his present fallen and relatively degenerate state to the higher condition of spiritual life, a power above his own must cooperate. Through the operation of the laws obtaining in the higher kingdom man may be reached and lifted; himself he cannot save by his own unaided effort. A Redeemer and Savior of mankind is beyond all question essential to the realization of the plan of the Eternal Father, “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man”; and that Redeemer and Savior is Jesus the Christ, beside whom there is and can be none other.
“For as death hath passed upon all men, to fulfill the merciful plan of the great Creator, there must needs be a power of resurrection, and the resurrection must needs come unto man by reason of the fall; and the fall came by reason of transgression; and because man became fallen, they were cut off from the presence of the Lord; wherefore it must needs be an infinite atonement." 2 Nephi 9:6-7

I am eternally grateful for this perfect, beautiful, freeing sacrifice of our Savior. SAVior. Save. He saves us. He redeems us. He lifts us up. We can find new life through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ, I have found new life. I am grateful to be able to spend an Easter on my mission pondering this humbling and bounteous blessing among the people of California. I love it. I love Easter. I love California. I love my Savior and Our Father and Their gospel. May we all strive a little bit harder to show our gratitude for this GIFT OF LIFE he has given us freely and lovingly.

Happy happy Easter,
Sister Brinton :)

#Hallelujah

Hi Hi Hi from the happiest, rain-soaked, Californian missionary!
It has rained for a solid 7 days. Non-stop. If it's not POURING, its sprinkling and really, really misty. I love it. I love love it. We puddle jump and sing and dance and everyone else runs to their cars, but we just walk and hold hands and enjoy it :) I've always loved the rain. And California needs it right now!
So I RARELY have people cancel lessons. I have probably had like 5 lessons cancel my whole mission. This week, for some reason, almost every single lesson cancelled! It was so weird. All for different reasons. Satan is working so so hard on the people here because they are so ready! He is such a loser. It's a constant battle to fight him off, but we are winning, no worries.
Bad news first: We had a weird feeling about Jessica. Yeah she seemed so golden at first, but the more and more we met with her, the less ready she seemed. She is going through a lot with her jobs and moving and she was sick. We had a lesson and after we found out about some issues, we told her she couldn't be baptized. She jumped with JOY! I told her, "No Jessica, I said you CANT get baptized." She said, "oh I know I was NOT ready and its just too much right now." We tried to set a new date to work towards and she didn't want to. Then we tried to set up another lesson and she said she needed a break! She was supposed to be baptized this Saturday. We said a hurried goodbye. In the car we were sad for like 5 minutes then we were filled with peace and we knew that it wasn't her time. She wasn't ready. But next time she will be :)
Sister Davis is the member that referred Jessica to us. A few days later I was talking it over with our ward mission leader and the Spirit testified something to my mind. Sometimes its a feeling in my heart, but this time it was a thought. It pooped into my mind and I knew it was inspired. We weren't there for Jessica. We were there for Sister Davis. She has been a less active on and off. We taught every single lesson in her home. She was there, teaching with us and bearing testimony. She was there to answer all of Jessica's questions when we weren't there. I didn't notice until that moment, but Sister Davis had gone through a huge change since we first started meeting with Jessica. The Lord works in mysterious ways!! We were so disappointed about Jessica and so focused on her, that we completely missed this beautiful, life-changing, testimony-strengthening miracle we saw with Sister Davis. This taught me to recognize the Lord's hand. This taught me that Heavenly Father loves ALL of His children. He isn't just trying to baptize people, He is trying to bring the lost back into the fold! I love all three of them dearly.
Good news: Gaby and Tristan are just THRIVING. Receiving answers to their prayers and coming to church and reading and doing so well. I love them! At the end of one of our lessons, Tristan opened up, which doesn't usually happen, and he said, "if the gospel has already blessed my life this much and I am not even a member yet, I cant imagine how much the gospel will bless my life after I am baptized!!" SO cute. I DIED. I squealed and wanted to hug him but his girlfriend was right there and I am not allowed to anyways. In one of Gaby's prayers she said, "Thank you for putting my heart in the right place and please continue to guide me on the right path." There is a joy that comes with little tender mercies like this that you just cant describe. Pure, wholesome, solid, light, good joy. I wouldn't trade it for the WORLD.
Our members have found this new FIRE and are referring their friends like crazy to us! The ward here is like a family to me. I love them! Their love and dedication to missionary work is like nothing I have ever seen before!
We got to go to another Why I Believe fireside, where people who were recently baptized bear their testimonies and tell their story. I LOVE the diversity. We had a 60 year old Asian woman, a 9 year old Tongan boy, and a 23 year old Hispanic man. The Gospel is for EVERYONE. Everyone. I love how they share what they went through to be baptized because it helps those learning about the church to relate and gives them hope. LOVE
The new Easter video is SO so powerful. Hallelujah: Follow Him and Find New Life. Please watch!
Lately, I have been studying the Savior's life in the New Testament, testifying of Him as I teach, and memorizing the Living Christ (highly recommend). As I watched this video for the first time this week, the Spirit told my heart and soul, "He lives." It was as if someone had said it in my ear. Everything that I have been studying of the Savior and of His LIFE and His Atonement pierced me to my core. I don't know how else to explain it. I was just weeping. I knew in that moment that nothing could be more true than Jesus Christ, His love for us, and the power of His Atonement. It was nothing knew that I learned, it was just the Spirit RE-kindling, RE-confirming my testimony of the Savior. Even we as missionaries or active members of the Church or Bishops need this. We don't just have an experience like this that lasts a life time. We need to be CONSTANTLY striving to strengthen that testimony. Every day we don't, it gets a little bit weaker. But just little by little! Not like one day you will wake up and be an atheist. Its one day you skip your prayers, the next your scriptures. I think this beautiful powerful experience I had was an answer to unsaid prayers. I knew what I was studying about the Savior was true, but the Spirit was kind of like, "Hey, Sister Brinton, it's still true. He does live." I am eternally grateful for this reminder that I hold so dear to my heart.
I got stuck in a rut with my prayers. I was saying the same things over and over and over. There wasn't any FEELING behind what I was saying. I would often fall asleep or get distracted while I was praying. Sometimes, I just wouldn't even know what to say. One of my favorite senior couple missionaries out here, Elder Nielsen, gave me a life-changing piece of advice. He told me to picture Heavenly Father with a little smile, just listening. WOW. This changed everything. All of the sudden, I was praying to SOMEONE. I was able to stay focused and express the thoughts and feelings of my heart! I felt loved and felt like someone was FINALLY listening. I was thinking, "oh wow what if He really were here listening like this." Then I was like, "HE IS!" He hears us! He hears you. He hears me. He cares about what we care about and He wants to bless us. He answers prayers. If any of you are struggling with your prayers like I was, hope that helps!
I love you! Thank you for loving me and my family!

Like Lehi

One of my sweetest best friends Sestra Holly Higgins, serving in Croatia said the following in her email, but I am stealing it to describe the work here in California.
"WOW! Okay, I am so sorry for everyone else right now because me and my companion must be taking all of God's attention right now because we sure are seeing His hand in just about everything. So many tender mercies and miracles are happening here."
Great week! My favorite day was Sunday. It was the one day that it didnt rain and the Spirit was so strong. Fasting brings sweet & special Spirit to the day. Gaby, Tristan, and Jessica all came to church for all 3 hours. Jessica is getting baptized March 19th! Tristan had to move his baptismal date to March 26th due to this huge scouting event. So lame. But God's got it all figured out. Gaby is planning on April 16th!
Some of you may remember Keith, an older homeless man we taught in January. He dropped off the face of the earth and we hadnt heard from him in a while. He texted us this week, found a place, and wants to keep meeting with us!
Best story ever about Tristan. Our invitation to him was to read the Book of Mormon every day. He said he was in class reading it on his phone. The teacher asked him to put his phone away. Then he remembered that he had a Book of Mormon in his backpack so he pulled it out and said (in his head), "you cant stop me!!" Hahaha I love this story because I love seeing other people fall in love with a book I love so much. I love seeing their sincere desire to do what is right and change their lives.
my district leader called us yesterday and was like
"hey i am calling on behalf of the zone leaders. There is an emergency transfer happening. Sister Fetzer you are going to Richmond and Sister Brinton you and getting a new companion, Sister Ricks."
My heart DROPPED into my stomach and my stomach hurt and my throat was in a knot and I almost started crying and I wanted to throw up I started freaking out I was SO sad!!!!!!!!!!!! Like legitimately sooooo sad and sad and sad for her to leave.
Then he said
JUST KIDDING
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I was so mad. It took me like 20 minutes to calm down.
But it was kind of cute because we had this big hug and it made me realize how much I loved her and didnt want her to leave. And how FAST it has gone by!!
We had the beautiful opportunity to teach Relief Society yesterday. In our lesson I shared a powerful story that my Daddie shared with me before I left on my mission. He had a good friend growing up who wasnt a member of the Church. My Dad never really shared the gospel with him or invited him to church. Fast forward 20 years. My Dad's friend called him and they caught up after not being in contact for a while. The friend told my dad that he had met with the missionaries and been baptized. My dad was, of course, THRILLED for his friend and his conversion. Then the friend went on to ask my dad, "Paul, why did you never share the gospel with me? Why did you never invite me to church? You had this beautiful message of hope that would have helped me through so much. I went through so many trials all alone, lost, suffering. I would KILL to have known of Jesus Christ earlier. I wish you would have shared this beautiful message you had with me earlier." This story hit me with such power and Spirit, I haven't been the same since. I dont mean to demean my father or point out his failure to share the gospel. I share this story because of what it has meant to me in my life. My righteous, kind, obedient, hard working, loving, patient, charitable, forgiving, converted father is one of the most Christ-like people I have ever met. He was a powerful missionary who changed hundreds of peoples lives and is STILL reaping the blessings from his service. He still is a missionary and an example and friend to all those around him.
I hope we can all understand how LUCKY we are to have Jesus Christ and His gospel in our lives! Then, like Lehi, have the desire to share it with others.

"And it came to pass that I beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy. And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen. And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit."
1 Nephi 8:10-12
 Love,
Sister Brinton :)

I love the rain

Emma and her companion have been asked to speak in church this Sunday, and she has been working on her talk and she sent it to me. I wanted to share it because it's awesome.
Living Water

In John Chapter 4 we read of the Savior leaving Judea and traveling to Galilee. To get to His destination, He had to go through a city in Samaria, where the Samaritans lived. Jews and Samaritans had extreme hatred towards each other. Most Jews extended their journey by many, many miles to avoid Samaria at all costs. Do you think Jesus Christ, He being a Jew, avoided Samaria? Of course not. In fact, He went directly into the city. He arrived at a well, tired, exhausted and worn out from His travels. While He was sitting on the well, "There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink." She was shocked and said, "How is it that thou, being a Jew, asketh drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?" In Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage is says, "Jesus, seemingly forgetful of thirst in His desire to teach," taught the woman. I will paraphrase what the loving Savior response was to her question: If you knew who I really was and what I could give to you for free, you would not be asking me that, but you would be asking me for the living water. If someone drinks the water of this well, they will eventually be thirsty again, "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst." The woman's sincere reply touches my heart,"Give me this water, that I thirst not." I imagine that Savior smiled when he then invited her, "Come."
We are given the scriptures and stories like this to "liken" to ourselves, to apply them in our own lives. I am sure you can only imagine what I, being a full time missionary, am going to relate this story to. Missionary work!
We read about how many people avoided Samaria because of a certain group of people who lived there. Do we do this? Do we refrain from sharing the gospel, knowledge of the Living Water, with our friends because they are a certain way? "Oh, she will never accept my invitation to come to church because she smokes." or "He wouldn't accept this Book of Mormon because he hates to read." Did the Savior avoid Samaria? No! He marched right in there. The Savior loves EVERYONE. His gospel, His Living Water, is for ALL

"Behold, hath the Lord commanded any that they should not partake of his goodness? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but all men are privileged the one like unto the other, and none are forbidden."
2 Nephi 26:28

One thing I have absolutely LOVED about the Bay Area is the diversity! Every single door we knock on is from a different country. Some of my investigators have been from Sri Lanka, Norway, Mexico, and China! I love it! God is the author of diversity. He loves ALL His children. He Atoned for ALL of His children.
When the Savior asked her for water, she was shocked! Are our friends shocked when we talk about the gospel to them? Let it become a part of our everyday conversations.
Remember when Jesus said, Oh man, if only you knew who I was and what I have to offer (John 4:10). How many are "kept from the truth because they know not where to find it?" (D&C 123:12). It is our job to invite! To show them. To present a choice. We are given the gift of agency here on earth, but we cannot exercise our agency unless we are presented with a choice. "Wherefore, the Lord God gave unto man that he should act for himself. Wherefore man could not act for himself save it should be that he was enticed by one or the other." (2 Nephi 2:16)
"The measure of our success as member missionaries is not whether people are baptized or take the missionary discussions-though these are the outcomes we hope for, of course. We have succeeded when we invite someone to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether they then use their free agency to choose to learn and accept the truth is up to them."
(The Power of Everyday Missionaries)
Jesus Christ says, "Whosoever drinketh of this water [from the well] shall thirst again" (John 4:13). So many of us and our friends are searching for relief to our thirst from worldly sources! Sources that only last temporarily. Temporary pleasure, temporary peace, temporary happiness. The Savior is the ONLY one who can TRULY quench our thirst. He provides a happiness, peace, and relief from our "thirst" that ALL of us long for. He is the Prince of Peace, the Living Water.
Then comes the beautiful, merciful, hopeful, sweet PROMISE of the Savior:

"Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst" (John 4:14)

Never thirst. Ever. And that's a promise! We all know how miserable it is to be thirsty, on a hike or on fast Sunday with no water. We also know how painful it is to be searching for truth or answers or relief and finding no source of hope. BUT, there is hope! There are answers! There is relief. It is Jesus Christ. He has promised us that if we turn to Him, we shall never thirst. We have this knowledge, but not everyone does. In fact, most don't. It's like we are all in the desert, blazing hot, and we are holding this brand new bottle of fresh, cool crisp, delicious water. Our friends around us are thirsty! Let us help them quench their thirst by inviting them to partake of the water, the Living Water, through Jesus Christ.
The "Living Water" is eternal life or the love of God. In 1 Nephi 11:25 it says, "I beheld that the rod of iron was the word of God, which led to the fountain or living waters; which waters are a representation of the love of God." Doctrine and Covenants 63:23 explains, "But unto him that keepeth my commandments the same shall be in Him a well of living water, springing up into everlasting life."
I tried to narrow it down to a few of my favorite verses, but they are all so beautiful. The term "Living Water" is found in all four of the books of scripture we study: The Book of Mormon, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Doctrine and Covenants.

"Therefore with JOY shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation."
2 Nephi 22:3

"Come, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters."
2 Nephi 9:50

"If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink."
John 7:37

"Yea, if they will come, they may, and partake of the waters of life freely."
D&C 10:66

The way this story even started off is the Savior "being wearied with His journey" (John 4:6) and asking for water. He was tired and wanted a drink. We are ALL tired and need a drink. Even us who have the gospel! We know where to turn for this relief. How grateful I am for this knowledge and the relief He has provided me after much searching and thirsting. Most don't know where to turn. Let us show them the way, the truth, the light, and the Living Water, Jesus Christ.
I say these things humbly in His name, Amen.
